Do you have an idea that could improve patient care?

Innovation is central to the improvement of patient care. The NHS has been under extraordinary pressure in recent times, but this also presents an opportunity to adapt and thrive. Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) is committed to harnessing the knowledge and expertise of health and social care professionals across Scotland to develop innovative solutions and welcome your ideas through the submission form below.

At this time we will prioritise ideas and innovations relating to Frailty, but please do continue to submit other ideas for review by our Innovation Team.

Please note ALL fields are required and are limited to 200 words.

If you have selected one of the “External Inventor” options please be aware that SHIL primarily exists to support innovations created by NHS Scotland staff. SHIL can work with, and fund, non-NHS inventors only if there is a potential for an NHS Scotland board collaboration, and subsequent benefit from development of the innovation. In practice this means that non-NHS inventors must either fully assign the rights to their idea to a health board OR be willing to work in collaboration with health board staff to create some new jointly-owned intellectual property.

See www.shil.co.uk/who-we-work-with for more details.

The aim of SHIL is to support, fund and develop your idea to a stage where the intellectual property can be licenced to a commercial partner and brought to market. Do you think your idea has commercial potential and if so why?
