SCRAM™ portfolio expands to new markets image

Tactical SCRAM™, Rx SCRAM™ and Tactical Rx SCRAM™ are now available for pre-order prior to official launch in the autumn

Three new products have been added to the SCRAM™ portfolio, extending the established benefits of the system into new markets and medical situations.

SCRAM™ (Structure CRitical Airway Management) offers an innovative solution to emergency airway and drug management; enhancing performance by reducing error, time to intervention and cognitive load.

Launched back in 2014, it is currently utilised by high-performance teams in both the pre-hospital and hospital environments, with the Adult SCRAM™ Bag demonstrating a 29% reduction in time taken to prepare the equipment in a recent clinical trial.

The new products have been developed in collaboration between Paul Swinton, Air Ambulance Paramedic with the Scottish Ambulance Service and co-inventor of the Adult SCRAM™ Bag; OpenHouse Products, commercial partner for the SCRAM™ line, and SHIL.

Here we take a look at the new range:

“Preparing drugs is a time-consuming process, requiring precision. Carrying out this critical task, while at the same time treating a critically injured patient in an uncontrolled pre-hospital environment or remote part of a hospital, is far from desirable and inherently prone to error. In emergency situations, a simple and standardised emergency anaesthesia protocol may improve the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.”
Paul Swinton, Air Ambulance Paramedic and inventor of SCRAM™
